flusted 0 Posted September 5, 2008 The differences lie in the size on the ports. I dont think either will make more power, just slight difference in torque. The early 1.8s had larger inlet ports and smaller exhaust, and the later 1.8s and 2l have smaller inlet and larger exhaust as the 16v head struggles to get the exhaust gases out due to the angle of the valves on the exhaust side.
