COOLANT PIPE NEEDED - VW DISCONTINUED

Hello all,

 

My 1.8 valver on a J Regs is slowly leaking H2O.... :( It went in for an MOT and the garage said the part I need, VW stopped manufacturing it a few months back? Gutted.

 

I have attached a doc they gave me and highlited the part.

 

Does anyone know exactly what this part is and or know where I can get hold of one?

 

Any help much appriciated!

Utter sh1te! :-) I am sure they still make it but the garage or VW Dealership is talking bottom gas again! Also Nine times out of Ten it will be that plastic flange that bolts to the side of the head that leaks rather than the pipe that connects it, can you see any white crustynes on the side of the head? Or a damp patch underneath the flange?

 

If you are sure its that pipe, go to your local VW dealership with that bit of paper and see what they say.

Hi,

 

Not noticed any crustynes on the side of the head? will have a look after work.

The Garage said they thought it had been over tightened at some stage and cut into the pipe. I presume they had already spoaken to VW who said they could not get hold of it.

 

I have spoaken to gsf and they suggested to try here or the corrado club.

 

Think I need to find a valver up for spares, but would prefer a new part!

Tried Eurocarparts?

 

They got me a very rare random O.E BMW coolant pipe that had been discontinued everywhere else....and even had it in stock in their Wembley branch!

I have random spares off my spare 1.8 valver. I'll have a look at my car for reference this avo and then see if I can dig out that pipe for you.

 

Is it one of the heater matrix pipes? I'm trying to place it in my head.

Yeah I've just dug it out, it's the matrix pipe for sure. Mine still has what looks like a good flange on it too if you need one?

 

How does £15 posted with the flange sound?

Nice one! If its 100% hole free then my names all over it! Carnt beat a good working flange too!
