K&N Drycharger - UK Supplier

Recommended Posts

I am looking for a UK supplier of K&N Drychargers, I have seen YBFilters but they dont have any UK stock of them.

I have done a search and all I found was a previous post from myself when I looked into one of these some 4 months ago!

It needs to be big enough to wrap over a 57i 0311 filter (this in itself seems to a problem with UK suppliers)

I remember speaking to Kev (cheesewire) who said he used some rainstop foam from Audioscape and some silicon spray, I have looked at Audioscape's website and they only have standard 'speaker' foam which I dont think will be much good as it will just soak up the water instead or repelling it.

So, can anyone help??

So, what exactly do you want/need this Drycharger thingy for? Just trying to work out what use they would be on a Corrado?

It stops rain being soaked up into the air filter and I suppose helps when you go thru a big old puddle by not sucking it up into your engine.

This is cool, I didn't know anything existed like this, I can see it being very useful for FI applications where the filter has replaced the carbon canister. Let me know if you find them anywhere jamminvr6storm.

Drychargers about halfway down.

See that is what I was thinking, but thought I was going a little mental! I suppose it's original applications are when the filter is outside of the vehicle i.e. open to the elements.

Yep spot on Corradude....

If you have a Vortech charger you are restricted to the positioning of your air filter. Drychargers are a good idea to stop you sucking up water into the maf / charger / engine!

With winter nearly here its the ideal time to find one.

You said it, I'm gonna make this one of my main priorities now, even if I have to get one from the U.S. of A

Let me know how you get on mate, Id be up for one from the US too If I have to!

Part of the problem is the size of the Drycharger needed for the K&N filter that they supply for the C (57i 0311)

Good Luck :salute:

Yeah, the K&N website doesn't list one for it. Do you know the dimensions of the 0311? If we can get a slightly larger/longer one then maybe some cunning cable tie action may be on the cards.

Yep, I had the same thought.... I think you can get one from the US thats 9" long and round tapered.

As for the size of the actual filter, short of taking my front bumper off and getting the tape measure out, I havent got a clue!

ive even asked K&N stockists and they just refer me to the information on the K&N website which doesnt tell you anything:

57-0311 Product Specifications

Product Style: 57i Series International Kits

Type: Gen I

CARB Exempt: No

Weight: 2.6 lb (1.2 kg)

Product Box Length: 9 in (229 mm)

Product Box Width: 9 in (229 mm)

Product Box Height: 9 in (229 mm)

Ok cool...I'll try to find a 9 incher without looking in my pants  I was having internet issues when I got home last night, it was taking 2 mins for a cf page to load so there was no way i was going to go trolling thru the net at that speed. I shall endevour tonight - connection permitting - and let you know.

I might try and see if i can get a tape measure round the filter too, but I highly doubt it given I have the clearance of half a pack of fags under the bumper.
