head unit not working at all

This is quite long winded but try to stick with it.

 

had the corrado about 3 weeks now, came with a sony head unit, i went and got a new one which subsequently didnt work properly, but now that i have fitted the old one in it has stopped working completley. before the stereo used to come on with the ignition but would only cut out when the key was removed from the barrel which was annoying because all the presets would be lost and cds would start again from the begining. the car has an aftermarket imobiliser fitted.

 

any help would be great

Hi,

 

There are only three things I can think of.

 

1, On of the positive wires has earthed causing a fuse to blow.(connected to sunroof i think)

 

2, The ISO connector has a wire loose.

 

3, The ISO connector has different ways to connect it up to allow you to have the stereo on whilst the ignition is not on etc.

if this has been fiddled with it may be connected up wrong.
