phil naxos 0 Posted November 30, 2008 Water in Boot Power washed my car on Friday and experienced damp in boot. may be coincidental. Looking at the seals they seem to be ok, The damp may be originating from drivers matwell as condensate on rear screen I have to seal the polythene behind the door card. anyone had the problem? boost monkey 0 Posted November 30, 2008 if the seal is bent or creased, water can still get past it. Most people only think if a seal is ripped or torn then it is broken. also check behind your rear lights. where in the boot did you find the water? Supercharged 2 Posted November 30, 2008 Check the badges first, you wouldn't believe how much water can get in if one of the clips or grommets is missing!

Jim 2 Posted December 1, 2008 That'll probably be it then! They cost pennies from the VW dealer so worth replacing the lot. You need 2 for the VW badge itself and 3 (or is it 4..) for the Corrado badge. Bit of a fiddle to remove but the old grommets will be old and perished so should make removing them easier!
