lanciaS4 0 Posted December 17, 2003 As a new and first time Corrado owner, I thought I would say Hi to everybody on this great looking forum! I recently purchased a 1.8 16V Corrado, fitted with a Turbo. I have had a few problems with it and it is now in its 3rd week at Alan Jefferies Tuning in Plymouth getting some pretty major boost and electrical probs sorted (hopefully). The turbo is only 9K miles old but the wastegate actuator was broken causing massive overboost. Hopefully not a sign of things to come... That aside, in the couple of weeks driving that I have got through so far, I have to say I am very impressed. It really does 'put a smile on your face' :D The driving position is straight out of a sit-down arcade machine, and the handling is real point and steer stuff. The lights seem a bit crap though, is that normal for a C? I really need to settle down with a car, as in the last 2-3 years I've gone from a VW Scirocco GTI to a Fiat Abarth 130TC to a 260+BHP Lancia Delta Integrale (awesome) to a Toyota Corolla 1.2 (bit of a comedown  ) to a MK2 8v GTI to a MK2 16V GTI to a Vauxh*ll Nova (bought for the missus, honest :? ) to the Corrado! This could be the 'one'. One thing that really struck me is how flipping good looking the car really is. Looking back at similar cars of the same era like the BMW 325, they look so dated in comparison. I'm from Weymouth in deepest darkest Dorset, are there any meets relatively local? lanciaS4 0 Posted December 17, 2003 Thanks for the info on lights. oh i love yer style .........i have lusted over the old strada 130TC for too long......just don't/didn't have the balls to go for one......if i could find one too that is...........so how was that to own and drive and was it a early one or later one????.......and of course got any pics of it too?. Most people normally go 'eh?' when I mention my old 130TC! It was on a 'B' plate and was a true wolf in sheeps clothing. Mine had twin 45s fitted and and I never came across a quicker, normally aspirated, 2 litre. Up to 60 I used to eat Beamers for breakfast :) (What is it about overtaking smug Beamer drivers?) Historically it has always been compared to the Golf GTI... Quicker? The Abarth More fun? The Abarth Handling? The Golf probably just nicks it A winner with the ladies? The Golf, birds just didn't get the Strada at all. Mine wasn't toooooo bad rust wise (for an old Fiat) when I got it, but one winter on the seaside and Mrs Oxide was beginning to unleash her full fury on the little Italian misfit, so unfortuntely it had to go whilst it was still in one peice. Parts are cheapish. Good ones nowadays are becoming very rare, you can still pick a decent one up from about £1,200. I believe concours versions are around £2,500 upwards and rare as rocking horse droppings. I'll dig a photo out sometime.
