renson 0 Posted January 26, 2009 ok so i have a strange problem happening with my passenger window. Most of the time it works, but others it won't. I have noticed that now with the passenger door open sometimes my alarm keeps registering it as if the opening and closing. This does not happen with the door shut. If it was just the earth swith that operates the interior light/alarm door switch would this cause the fault? Are there any seperate earthing points for the doors? It may also be a loose connection but i really don't want to take the door cards off unless i have to. I should point out that no fuses are blowing and that i can hear the window relay thing behind my head clicking and the window does not sem 'stuck' in anyway. Any Ideas? :brickwall:
davidwort 0 Posted January 26, 2009 sounds like a break in the wiring at the door/A pillar, where it flexes all the time, PITA to get at and fix :(
renson 0 Posted February 19, 2009 Took the door card off over the weekend and had a look around, couldn't see any damaged wires, so while playing around noticed that i could feel the widow motor click almost like the window was frozen shut which it wasn't. After tapping around the frame the winow started working again so as i had no grease with me i gave all the running gear for the window mech a good dose of wd40 and the window has been fine since. Could it just be that the gudes and mech were a bit to much resistance so the motor wouldn't engage kind of like a saftey cut off?. Seems perfectly fine now just got to do it all again and grease everything up properly. As for the alarm problem, my door switch was just a bit stiff so wasn't returning correctly.
