"Excessvie comm errors" on VAG-COM, what does it mean..?

Recommended Posts

I get the following error message when trying to use VAG-COM to scan my ABS:

"Excessvie comm errors, unable to continue"

...so what does that actually mean?

My ABS light is permanently on and it's annoying me :brickwall:

I've read that you can check the resistance of the sensors with a multimeter, I've tried that but can only do it on the male end of the connectors (is that the correct way to do it?), the female end is inside a plastic sleeve, too long for my multimeter prongs to touch.

:help:

It's an issue with some of the cheaper USB VAG COM Cables... Go into your latency settings in the hardware manager and adjust the value. Thiink it needs to be around 5....

Have a search, there's a thread on it.

Yes there is a thread on it somewhere. defo to do with the latency setting, I had the exact same thing with mine. You cant access the ABS controller whilst the car is moving either, it has to be stationary.
