speaker upgrade recomendations

hi, i have a early interior corrado, and find the speakers to be a little bit desired for,

i want to upgrade the speakers, but i dont want to change door cards etc or have pods made etc etc,

 

idealy im after a set of components so i can put the tweeters in the dash near the windscreen,

 

what would people recomend as i know i may encounter some depth issues with the door cards etc.

How about fitting some ready made pods from Audioscape mate.

Most 5.25" components should fit. I fitted a set of JBL competition components. Had to drill the fixing holes out on the speakers a couple of mm but otherwise everything went in and looks completely std. Running on a JL audio amp and sounds awesome!
