corradog60stage4 0 Posted February 7, 2009 Instead of sending them out to the wheel refinishers I decided to take on the task. Costs was like 36.00 for Duplicolor paint and clear coat in aerosol cans, primer, and CIL putty. a set of long beaches with rash on the faces, edges, etc... some CIL putty to fill in the rash some sanding primer, paint and clear coat
mrbeige 0 Posted February 7, 2009 Good work, that looks great. 8) Excuse my ignorance but, what is CIL putty??
VAG-hag 0 Posted February 7, 2009 love the title of this thread - made me chuckle  good work man, lookin peachy. Though you could have left them with CIL exposed & fit in with the nova boys who have cars covered in it!!
KADVR6 0 Posted February 7, 2009 when i repaired my RC's this is what i used to re-form the lips http://www.screwfix.com/prods/59655/Sea ... CSTHZOCFFA its excellent stuff, just use it to re-form the lip and leave over night then just sand it down to a smooth finish, i did the RC's nearly 2 years ago and they are still 100% perfect
mrbeige 0 Posted February 7, 2009 I'm assuming this stuff bonds itself to the metal then?

dukest 0 Posted February 7, 2009 and the whole sanding business Karl, is that reasonable enough to do by hand or is it a long old process? any tools make it easier?
KADVR6 0 Posted February 7, 2009 well when i got my RC's all the lips were badly marked, and each alloy took about 20mins to sand down using 1000 grade wet 'n' dry, just dont put to much on, and make sure the putty doesn't sit proud otherwise it will take you ageeees. corradog60stage4 0 Posted February 8, 2009 This is for aesthetics only and will not repair bent rims. as long as it is rash, gouges, chips and scratches.
