Jay2 0 Posted February 27, 2009 Finally got round to sorting the rear number plate light holder, but the rust seems to have taken a real bite out of it! Got the usual strip on order from Stealers and noted through 'search' previous post on spraying this to match the C but after advice on how to tackle the rusted section on the body itself? RearNumberPlateLights.JPG[/attachment:1i6rcvmd] Do I need to grind it back completely or is there some other way of tackling it as the metal isn't that thick?
KIPVW 0 Posted February 27, 2009 Looks bad to me mate so be very carefull with a grinder or you'll just rip it all out then have nowhere to screw it to :| did my 8v last year and looks miles better for it too. Drop me a pm if you want cost and who did it
Jay2 0 Posted March 13, 2009 Cheers Kip, Sorry not been on for a few weeks, aye, info appreciated. Thought I'd try it DIY style. RearNumberPlateLightsAfter.JPG[/attachment:2lw7hxhy] Don't expect it to last too long but should see me through a few months till funds allow for a proper job. Does your metal strip sit flush? Think mines due to the new foam seal being spongy fresh.
