ashley555 0 Posted March 7, 2009 Just done a oil change. Planned on replacing the filter housing to block gasket. When unbolted from the block i realised i had been supplied the wrong gasket by the local dealer planks in parts. The existing gasket was a bit ropey but I had no choice to instant gasket and bolt back up. It only had two inputs so guessing one oil in one out. Can anyone confirm this is the case. I bit concerned that ones oil and one water and with a bad gasket im asking for trouble!
pete_griff 0 Posted March 7, 2009 the oil filter housing is only oil-oil (AFAIK); it's the oil cooler that has water going through it (even then though, there is no route for the water to get into the block and mix with the oil - it's kept separate). would have thought you will be ok - just a pain for you having to rip it back off again if you want to put the proper gasket on there...
