Rawhide 0 Posted December 22, 2003 When I bought my car I decided to do the sunroof repair and my problem was that the cable guides had broken on each side. I stripped the whole assembly and to cut a long story short have an operational sunroof with the exception but with a couple of problems. Firstly the piece that holds the cables onto the motor assembly is cracked on one side. I don't think this is really a problem as the motor still goes up tight and the cables move the same speed both side when the motor is wound. I will replace it but don't think this is a problem for now. The little arms that look like tiny handles don't want to go on. I have fitted them with the circlips and springs but the interior blind will not move forward when they are in place  This has really baffled me and I've tried it with the metal panel out so I can see whats happening but the blind will come a certain way then just gets stuck about three inches from the front. I think brute force might be the answer but I don't want to break the 'handles' as they are fragile. If I remove them the blind slides forward nicely  Thirdly no matter what I do I can't get the roof to sit flush. It now sticks up slightly at the front which is very iritating when cruising at speed due to the wind blast. I am hoping that when all the rails and guides are working properly it will go back into place but I can't work out what the problem is. Anyway its the little 'arms' that are really puzling me. Has anyone come across this before :?: thanks!
