Clutch problem

Recommended Posts

Hi guys. I am having a problem with my clutch pedal! It is disappearing to the bottom. I keep having to put my toe underneath the pedal to bring it back up. Is there a way of checking the master cylinder and slave cylinder seperately rather than buying both? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!!!

The slave was more likely to fail but most of these have been done now and the Masters are starting to go...

The slave is still the cheaper part so I would look at this first, especially if it's an older black painted item - new ones are alloy

Any signs of fluid on top of the the gearbox?

Just the problem I had in my 2.0 8v.. Total cost was 270 quid.. 100 quid for the master, 50 quid for the slave then the vat and labour...All part of owning an older car mate :( :(
