Inlet/ exhaust valve material???

I noticed today while examining my newly rebuilt Vr6 engine [the second time its been rebuilt] that my inlet valves are magnetic but the exhaust valves are not. I know the exhaust valves run hotter but I am suprised that they are made of a different material, is this normal or do I have odd valves :confused4:
