Has anyone actually had their exhaust from Venom?

Ive been waiting now for nearly four weeks for my Miltek cat back system from venom, ive spent the last three months sorting the rear beam-bushes,rust etc and left a month to get the exhaust before i put it all back together. I have phoned them four times asking when im likely to expect delivery, every time they say well it should be soon......fair enough they are not building it only selling it, i thought they shouldnt take the full amount (£360 iirc) if they dont stock the item only take a deposit (i could be wrong?).......as you may tell im getting quite peed off, has anyone had similar experiences? and when do you think i should ask for my money back and go elsewhere ?.................. :cuckoo:

I should think they're still waiting on getting stock in from Miltek, I certainly had no issues when buying my exhaust from them, although I live pretty close so called them to check it was in stock and picked it up the same day. The place is quite small so they don't keep many more than one specific fitment of an exhaust in stock unless it's a really big seller.

 

Chatted with Richard (the owner) for quite a while when I was there and he's a really nice genuine bloke, I've never known anyone have a problem with them.

 

Try ringing around some other suppliers to see if they've got one in stock, if they have call Venom and explain that you need the exhaust quickly and wish to cancel your order.

Ok thanks what you've said makes a lot of sense, i should also add that ive never dealt with them before so when you hand over £360 of your hard earnt cash many things go through your mind, like am i ever going to get it? .........im just peeved cos ive worked quite hard to get everything ready for the rebuild and i only use the car for six months a year, the last time i used it was six months ago so im chomping at the bit to drive it again which is probably where the frustration is coming from.................... :D

Christ, 6 months without driving it! The longest I've ever gone without driving mine is about two days :) No wonder you can't wait to get it back on the road.

 

Don't worry about Venom being dodgy, my best mate works for Tar-ox so has dealings with pretty much all the car tuning places / shops in the UK and tells me they're one of the better ones out there. I had a problem when I was getting my exhaust fitted and Richard bent over backwards to help even though it turned out the problem was entirely due to an incompetent fitter (who was sacked soon after).

After 4 weeks i asked for my money back that was last week and no money yet, im really starting to think that venom are of dubious character.......... :(

 

1) They took the full amount for the exhaust knowing that they didnt stock it.(Thats illegal isnt it?)

 

2) They fobbed my off time after time saying "yea im sure it'll be here tomorrow...."

 

3) They offered me a jetex system when i wanted a Miltek and said they could get a jetex tomorrow, they told me that Miltek were really busy.(Phoned another place and they told me Miltek had one on the shelf WTF?)

 

4) When i asked for my money back, they told me my Miltek had turned up(The day after they told me they could get a jetex)

 

Something smells really bad about all this, funny how the Miltek turned up the same time they could get a jetex bearing in mind you would have to see both exhausts to know the difference. Im really thinking that when you add it up its difficult to think that they werent trying to stitch me up.

Time to get in touch with trading standards I think mate - sounds dodgy to me.

He has a good relationship with Milltek and could easily find out for you if the exhaust is on the shelf there and whether he could get it quickly. If you explain your situation, I'm sure he'd make a call for you.

John had 2 systems (one early and one late) for sale at Stonor... not sure if he sold them of not but worth giving him call and cancelling you're order with Venom (they seem to always have problems with supplying parts in good time for people!)

Thanks lads for your input, i have pm'd Jim with a fuller explaination, maybe we could start a definative thread with the suppliers and all of our experiences (good and bad) with them so that people know what to expect. I did my research into Venom and there was nothing untoward (using this site)............ :salute:

Eventually got my money back from Venom, what a nightmare i will certainly NOT be using Venom again. I think they should think about writing a book cos they are really good at fiction.................................. :wave:

I ordered a magnex over the net from venom late at night, had a call the next day to say they didn't have one and couldn't get one from magnex as they'd gone bust, so far enough, (Surely they should have removed it form they're site?) said they had a jetex that they could get to me within 2 day, so took that as it was my second choice anyway and they didn't charge me the extra for the jetex :) Sure enough it arrived two days later, :D

 

Sounds like u def had a bad experienced with them tho, don't blame u for cancellin.
