Pat_McCrotch 0 Posted July 1, 2009 Right, it's that time of the year :( As far as I'm aware the car is mechanically sound aside from an occasional creaking noise when turning (probably the aftermarket TCA bushes) and a cracked fog lamp. Will the fog lamp need to be replaced? Any other areas I need to look out for?
Critical_Mass 10 Posted July 1, 2009 I think David meant, nope to the foglight question  This may help http://www.ukmot.com/mot_check.asp
davidwort 0 Posted July 1, 2009 yep, nope, for fog :) and yep there's plenty else to check :) feeling a bit more helpful this time - obvious things are split cv boots, wishbone bushes and ball joints lights, incl rear fog, and warning bulb for fog switch on dash washer jets and wipers, cracks on windscreen, headlight alignment/beam height leaking/bouncy shocks, badly corroded brake pipes and perished flexi hoses, siezed rear compensator blowing exhausts high emissions and braking efficiency/evenness excessive play in anything like steering, ball joints, wheel bearings, top mounts excessive oil leaks, any fuel leaks  bald tyres :)
