m88sdm 0 Posted July 6, 2009 Hi, I have tried to search for what i;m looking for but had no luck, lots of very old posts. I have a lovely new corrado and the gears all seem very wide apart the length between 1st and 2nd is huge. Now i know i've been driving a car thta has very tight grearing as tsnadard but even so it's like driving a old landy! In your expert opinions what is the best way to imporve this??? And what is the best performance vs money??? Many Thanks Steve
davidwort 0 Posted July 6, 2009 if you can weld, then cutting and shutting a gearlever relay plate to change the pivot point is a very cheap way to reduce throw, a passat plate is probably a better starting point than a Corrado one and then you can always swap back if you have any issues. A 25-30% reduction is about what you'll get, In any case more of a reduction than that and the change will become very notchy.
C. Will Corrado G60 2 0 Posted July 6, 2009 Neuspeed short shifter is the way to go. I've had one fitted for about 4/5years and it's always worked perfectly.
