PaulMoVR6 0 Posted September 14, 2009 Right this is my final post on this bloody annoying subject iam hopeing someone out there as had this problem!! Ok.... my coolant temp gauge has a bloody mind of its own, when the car is started no matter if its cold or hot the gauge will go up to 110c and the LED will flash when i start to drive the car the LED will continue to flash but as soon as i stop at traffic lights for example and let the car idle the LED will stop flashing and the needle will drop ever so slightly but as soon as i touch the throttle the LED will flash again and the needle will rise again. I have changed the thermostat the houseing the three thermo switches the header tank and the coolant temp gauge but nothing has helped, could it be the yellow thermostat sender i was given a black one from VW could this be at fault? this is really starting to annoy me now i dont know what else to change...Waterpump? Radiator? Anyone got any suggestions before i have to take it to a garage :( Cheers Paul
shaung60 0 Posted September 14, 2009 Sorry Paul but all I can think of is to give the electrical connectors/connection on the wires into the header tank a good clean.
VR6 0 Posted September 14, 2009 As you've said yourself, not another new thread for this same problem please. This is for your benefit really as people don't keep suggesting the same thing over and over and over and over. There have been a few threads already closed/merged so please let's just keep this all in one place.
