warren 0 Posted October 22, 2009 hi there, does the selector on an auto box suppose to light up at night? last night i went in a mates 2.0 auto and the selector was almost impossible to see as it was not lit up, he seems to think it was always like this?!? is it just a case of changing bulb under the selector? if so i take it it's a fairly straight forward job for him :confused4:
too hot 0 Posted October 22, 2009 I would be guessing but,I say it should light up. It would give an idea of gear selection in the dark I may be wrong but someone will know for defo. :)
davidwort 0 Posted October 22, 2009 the MFA is definitely back lit with a conventional bulb, if the mileometer/trip is too, then the gear selection indicator should be, it's not clear from the parts diagram though.
JMC 0 Posted October 22, 2009 It should definately light up. I did a conversion for someone once when they wanted the bulb replacing with a green LED light. Can't remember whether it was a 'wire cutters and soldering iron job' or not though (damn my failing memory  ).
