plummer 0 Posted October 23, 2009 Hi All, Having some trouble with my ABS on a VR6 C, on startup the light comes on and goes off as normal but after maybe 10mins of driving comes back on again. I took it to the local VW garage last week and they reported a fault with the rear left sensor and blamed this on dirt in the slots of the ABS Rotor. Anyone have such an issue? Is it difficult to get at(bearing in mind that the bolts may not be in best condition)?. Thanks. plummer
Critical_Mass 10 Posted October 23, 2009 It easy to get at IF the carrier bolts arent hard to get off. I and others have had problems getting them off but, Irwin bolt grippers to the rescue. Once the carrier is off, its simple to dismantle the brake disc, bearings etc to get at the sensor. Though i would imagine you could clear between the sensor and rotor without dismantling it, Try spraying a little brake cleaner down there if you can see where to spray. or even easier, get it plugged in to vag com if you can.
