Potential takeover of Karmann by VW!

Recommended Posts

Time to refit the VW badge to the back of your Corrado, Eric :)

;)

Blasphemy!! Burn the witch!

Erm more like, remove whatever VW remnants my cars still have :D Replace as many VW logos with Karmann badges, the true creator of our beloved cars.

Anyway, let VW build Goof cabrios at the Osnabrück plant, which is what´s been announced, along with Porker Boxsters.

According to one analyst, the reason VW acquired Karmann was as a thankyou by Piech to Wulff for Wulff having helped Piech fend off Porsche´s hostile take-over bid, and reverse the whole thing, i.e. VW taking over Porsche instead.

Whatever VW end up building there, it's just great to know that VW's will be rolling out of Osnabruck for some time to come.

Hope VW ended up buying all the tooling and the presses for Corrado and Scirocco panels!!

It´ll be a new Goof cabrio, production start 2011.

The new company will be called Volkswagen-Osnabrück GmbH, to include tooling production, presses, paintshop, assembly and further areas.

Looks like its going to be used to build the next Boxster and Cayman - Porsche have not renewed the contract with Magna and have announced that they will be built at a refurbished facility in Germany
