Recommended Posts

Hmmm - very interesting!!

I've got an older Garmin at the moment which is great but I may upgrade to a Widescreen Nuvi soon as I expect them to come down in price nicely for xmas!

Some more info (from a USA website) - http://www.gpscity.com/garmin-ecoroute-esp-cable.html

Stay informed

Use this cable to connect your Bluetooth-enabled Nuvi 1xxx directly to your car's On Board Diagnostic (OBD) system. You can display data about your fuel economy and current engine performance, as well as decode and display critical engine trouble codes. Know what's going on under your hood at a fraction of the cost of aftermarket gauges and expensive mechanics.

Total installation time is under 5 minutes; just plug the cable into the OBD port in your car (usually located by your steering wheel) and pair it one time with your Nuvi 1xxx-series device.
