Whats The Differance ?

Dont want to sound to dumb but, whats the differance between an ODB 1 and ODB 2 engine pls ? :confused4:

Also are any of the parts interchangable like the rocker cover, manifolds etc ?

Any info greatly appriciated ! :)

OBD1 and 2 refer to the engine management. OBD 2 is more advanced, and has better control over the engine. It uses a stepper motor on the throttle body to control the idle rather than a ISV. Otherwise it's quite similar to a late OBD1 VR6.

 

To convert a car you need the inlet manifold, throttle body, MAF, coilpack (if you have a distributor based engine) wiring loom, and ECU.

Thanks for that, not wanting to convert my car just wanted to know if i bought say a rocker cover for a OBD 2 would it fit a OBD 1 ?

My c is a 1994 VR6 so guess its OBD1 ?

All corrados are OBD1 unless they have been converted afterward.

 

The rocker cover has nothing to do with the engine management type, but they do change, from a metal unit to a plastic one. The metal cover fits over studs in the head, the plastic one has bolts in it to clamp it down.
