coullstar 0 Posted January 14, 2010 I tried searching but couldnt find the answer. Looking at taking the outer rear window seal on my car. I know they are push fit but does anyone have a good technique for removing it? I dont want to get heavy and tear it or even worse damage the window/tailgate. davidwort 0 Posted January 14, 2010 fingers? just pull it out? perhaps use the end of a clothes peg or something not too hard/sharp to lift the edge of the seal.
coullstar 0 Posted January 14, 2010 Tried with fingers but its damn tight. I would need some sort of implement to lever it out. Anybody got some good techniques to use?
davidwort 0 Posted January 14, 2010 warm it with a hair dryer to make it a bit more compliant, then, try levering it like I said, probably best at one corner.
colinstubbs 0 Posted January 14, 2010 Would be easier in the summer!!!
Supercharged 2 Posted January 14, 2010 Be careful - They are easy enough to remove but the only way to install them is to fit them to the glass before it's fitted so you need to get the glass out to replace! Warm soapy water will help get it out but as above, in the weather you are far more likely to rip it with it being so cold.
