lycara 0 Posted February 23, 2010 Go to the car this morning fire it up and notice the coolant light flashing :( So go to lift bonnet up and bonnet stuck :mad2: .I do wonder why I have this car sometimes, suppose it keeps me on my toes.

gsbellew 0 Posted February 23, 2010 Roll out the drivers seatbelt, clip it on to the bonnet release lever and then retract it so that it pulls the lever and holds it tight, then go round and lift the bonnet, you may need to push down slightly and then lift, if its just stretched cables it should open. Obviously won't work if the cable has snapped.

krnau 0 Posted February 23, 2010 Thanx that worked :D Seems I left the expansion tank lid of when I last topped up then water in the coolant  it happened once to me as well  since then, I always leave the expansion tank cap where the bonnet's "hook" engages the chassis (bad description, useless words, but you get the idea  ) in order not to forget
sprinterVR6 0 Posted February 23, 2010 again, this shows the 'pure character' of these cars! It sensed a serious problem and locked the bonnet. Genius. 'K.I.T' from Night Rider sort've stuff :notworthy:
