Elora or Draper?

Recommended Posts

Which is better for a brake pipe spanner? Elora one is about a tenner and the draper one is about £2

Cheers

only one way to find out...... FIGHT!

FWIW, I have a halfords one that seems very well made, nearer the ten quid mark, it's pretty important to have a precisely machined tool for that job, can you take a sample of said union in to check on each tool, see how well they fit.

If it's for occasional use then cheapo might well do fine, but I'm definitely in the camp of 'buy the best quality tools you can afford' had a few odds and ends fail or contribute to my poor mechanical skills in making jobs take ten times longer than they should :|

That is what I was thinking. I know that brake pipe unions can be a complete b1tch, and round off too easily really.

Helfrauds one might not be a bad idea. I'll pop down there tomorrow lunchtime.

Elora are the daddy, better than Snap-on I reckon.

Halfords ones are very good too unless they are really seized (I have seen the jaws on mine open slightly on really rusty stuff)

isnt elora made by draper?

just we can get it all in at work and im sure that elora is just another range to the draper series?

Draper DIY

Draper Expert

Draper Elora

Shoot me if im wrong :p but surely the more you spend specially if its all made by the same people its gonna be better quality

Yeah they own Elora but historically it was it's own brand like Snap-On etc

Draper stuff is fairly poor quality, the expert range is slightly better but not as good as Halfords Pro stuff. Elora are in a different league all together
