mimjed 0 Posted March 6, 2010 give us a couple of clues such as what car, has it had an engine conversion, are clocks thought to be original, rest of dials working correctly? commonly your looking at the 3 cable electircal connector on the top of the gearbox. cables are getting old and brittle now so often break. loose/bad connections. follow cables back to clocks if needs be. Well mine is a 1990 1.8 but supposed to have a 93 2.0lte engine in? Is there anyway I can tell?
mimjed 0 Posted March 7, 2010 thats possibly part of the problem. i had to make a loom to get my g60 clocks working in a 1.8 16v shell. look for engine code (9a, 2.0 16v or kr 1.8 16v). stick a picture up of your engine/look in members gallery at known engines. CazzaVR 0 Posted March 8, 2010 Make sure the vac pipe that goes to the back of the clocks from the engine bay (through the bulkhead) is attached both to the clocks and to the connection (t-piece?) in the engine bay.
psiburr 0 Posted March 8, 2010 Why would my fault be intermittent :confused4:
CazzaVR 0 Posted March 8, 2010 Why would my fault be intermittent :confused4: Have you checked the earths under the dash? Mine has an intermittent prob too, and I'm 99% sure it's an earth issue, just haven't got round to investigating properly.
LowDownLuke 0 Posted March 12, 2010 How do I get the clocks out??? Going to take a look at this tomorrow ???
CazzaVR 0 Posted March 12, 2010 6 screws If I remember correctly. One on each of the bottom corners either side under the little plastic covers. 2 in the top- you have to angle a screwdriver up with the handle near the steering column cowling. Once those are off and you've removed the surround, there are a couple either side that mount the clocks onto brackets- be careful not to drop these- you'll never find them again  HTH- it's actually a pretty easy job. Remember to set the steering wheel at it's lowest level.
