It's made by Mantra I think and You can buy it from VW but it's not really needed - try a Lambda probe socket with an allen key or just get a garage to buzz it off with an airgun.

Note the nut size on some new shocks is 21mm - for this you can just use a standard 14mm sparkplug socket with a spanner and allen key.

spark plug socket with an allen key. the spark plug socket allows you to get a spanner on the outside

yes, if you can get a drop ring spanner, with a big drop you can just use that.

i've nicked the same spanner off a plumber three times now for that job

all sound like good plans

have tried spark plug sockets but all seem to small, i need 22mm

i think i may have solved my own problem though, im thinking grind two sides down on a 22mm socket so i can grab it with a large adjustable spanner then i still have the hole down the middle for the 7mm allen key.

As I said, Lambda probe socket is what you need - 22mm and easily available.

your not wrong that would do the job.

but im gunna butcher one of my 22's first. have spent enough money on the old girl today now.

I just filed flats onto a 22mm socket so I could grip it with a spanner and am quite happy with it. Got a steep drop ring spanner for the other car.

When I changed my suspension I used a 7mm allen key with a handle

Like this

8mm_Allen_Key.jpg

Then used a socket ( cant remember what size ) and a pair of mole grips worked fine for me.

If I could of I would of welded a bar to the socket to make things easyer but lack of a welder stopped that. 8)
