Swompy 0 Posted March 31, 2010 Just a quick quetion. Are the little plastic plate type things ( sorry cant think of a better way to describe them) that go in the corners of the splitter needed. Mainly due to my new ride hight ( will be raising it a bit to get into my garage when I move out 8) )they have broken and keep hanging loose and scrapping on the floor, so was wondering if there will be any ill effects if I remove them? Supercharged 2 Posted March 31, 2010 I think they're just air guides - most cars don't have them... just 94 and 95 models I think without brake ducts

Critical_Mass 10 Posted March 31, 2010 scraping my splitter on speed bumps wrecked the air guide on mine and it was scraping on the floor itself. Just took it off no issues. In fact there was only one on the drivers side not on the passenger side too.
James. 9 Posted March 31, 2010 They're called "splash shield protectors" and are surprisingly hard to come by second hand, as over time they get taken off and chucked. I'd stick hold of them to be honest, as should you need them in the future VAG will lighten your wallet to the tune of £38 each!

It would still be on the car had half of it not fallen off
