porsche d90s

Recommended Posts

hi all,

at the moment im running 2054516 at the front and 2154016 on the rear, and the rear wheels are wider but

recently i had a blowout on the motorway so im sure this was because the tyres were stretched at the back.

i need to know what size i should run on the back.

thank you

how can we advise if you haven't told us how wide they are?!

also, what makes you think you had a blow out due to tyre size? sounds very unlikely to me given the tyre size you were running already. I'm guessing the rears are 8s in which case 215 sounds just fine. If you're worried about it then you could run 225/40 but they might start to rub then depending how low the car is.

If thats on an 8 then that certainly isn't a stretch. 1 size down from what Porsche used themselves.

Blowout could be for many reasons, most of them outside your control. I run 195/40's on my D90's that are 8 inch all around and i've never seen a problem similar on anyone who's done the same. If you get 225/40's it'll look a bit ridiculous on a Corrado IMO.

Just stay with the same size as before if you were happy with it, blowouts are one of those unlucky things that happen, just check your tyres pressures and for nails etc and you might stop one happening if you catch it. :)

I'm running 205's on 8's with next to no stretch, so 215 is fine as already said
