trust me mine at night looks black!!! even alot of people that come to my ace cafe though it was black and thats with lighting at ace cafe.

 

But trust me come a summer day when the car is completely clean and waxed well ull just get a excellent pearl effect out of it :-P :D :)

Trust me - they are the same colour - the pic above of Aposegils spoiler looks just like mine. The Dark Burgundy sticker gives it away too. Just used a tin of the spray from VW to touch up a small rust patch on my arch and was amazed at how good the match was given it's an unusual colour.

brian.......if you've just seen pics of alex's C then how do you know that,that is its true colour(which i'm no way saying it isnt just pointing out that pic to computer can make a difference)??........you've only seen Glenn's C at the RR day when just about every car there was covered in road grime :roll: so not exactly ideal comparison to Ross's motor let alone Alex's minter.....i would imagine that Glenn has taken the time to cross-reference the data sticker on his C to what the colour code is

vr6paul, well im thinkin there coulda been a couple of variations for the same colour names, vw seemed to do it a bit as i've seen to helious blue cars that looked completly different, so thought it might be that, looks different with the same name.

Just to clear things up - in Aposegil's above spoiler photo - I can safely say that the colour looks identical to mine. If you really want Brian I can take a few photos for you to examine and then you can pass judgement on it. The colour seems to vary a lot in photos though - just look at my gallery pics, RR day and Avatar - they all look so different. The orange sticker in the engine bay says Dark Burgundy and I dont believe there is any variation with the paint. It's the same colour as seen on Golf G60s with that name. The paint from Volkswagen is a perfect match. It's quite funny the way this has prompted such a heated debate as the colour always interests people. Thats why I love it and why I posted this thread.

ok guys i didnt want to start a "urs is and urs isnt" thread i just wanted to show what the colour can produce.

 

also was speaking to my sprayer on friday about a few things and he did mention there is TWO grades of LC3U Burgandy pearl effect (i think thats the correct code etc)

 

Anyway there is a light and a dark version, the light version was used on my car this time to show of the paint of better etc

 

so the reason it might take urs more to show thru more than others is due to the grade used

 

just a idea

 

also Lee great pic :) ive got to admit early on today i pulled the car out of the garage (as im working on the engine) and i saw it in the sun shine :D :D :D it looked great :lol:

Yeh as far as i can figure mine is as well (see harrys 16v bad boy post) It is an amazing colour, its an absolute transformation wen the sun appears(if) :roll: And you are all correct wen you say it looks black wen its darker, infact i got a parking ticket the other day and on it the blind bitch put the colour as black, winner :lol:

Yours looks exactly like mine in your pics Phat. Dunno about the washing and polishing - would anyone recommend giving the car a good all over t-cut to bring out the colour or would that be a real bad idea? Got some new pics in my gallery Phat with my new fogs and I colour coded my rear badge - think it makes a difference! :wink:

Definitely. My last car was a Diamond White Escort :oops: and it was a nightmare to keep clean but when clean or polished or waxed always just looked......well white really!
