68mm pulley installation?

I'm going to attempt to fit a 68mm pulley at the weekend.

 

I've had a search but cannot find any guide or anything to do with the subject.

 

I suppose it will all become evident when getting down to it, but how do i de-tension the tensioner damper to get it off the top bolt (once the nut is off)?

 

How tight does the bolt need to be when re-attaching the pulley?

 

Is there anything else that i really need to know?

 

I have got the shorter belt and already fitted the chip in the ecu ready to go on.

It's fairly straight forward but the original pulley might be a git to get off and require a puller...

 

There is a special tool for the damper but you should be able to get it off easily enough by pushing on it, getting it back on with the shorter belt might be more difficult and require a second person to help - careful not to damage the rubber bush.

 

You might want to also get a PAS belt too as this needs to come off.

 

ECU - you need to take the scuttle / leaf cover out to remove the ECU.

OK, have only just got round to looking at doing this.

 

The damper came off pretty straight forward, looks like its gonna be a pain to get back on though.

 

Probably a stupid question, but how do i get the bolt out of the centre of the pulley without the pulley spinning? :?

HELP - anyone?

 

G-Werks have suggested using a workshop gun, i dont have access to one of these.

 

and again to re-fit it :confused4:

 

Surely many a people have done this in their garages with basic tools?

I use a chain whip but with an old bit of cam belt or something on the pulley so you dont damage the pulley as the chain whip digs into it.
