do 8v's have central locking?

Recommended Posts

just wondered as my new little 8v has a key locking filler cap inside and the CL doesn't work, and doesn't feel like it has the vac line attached.

newbee to these cars :)

must have had a replacement filler cap then with a lock in the middle of it at some point

and a nice little electrical problem for me to investigate with the door locks then

Hmm - unless they didn't being poverty spec??

I know ETKA list stuff for cars without but I was fairly sure all UK cars would be, especially late ones.

Does it have a pump?

this weekend should be the first I get to have a good go over it, water flanges on head to change and a few obvious bits and bobs to look at,

electrics are dubious as the passenger door mirror doesn't work but it's getting 12v to one of the motor connections and the motors are good (tried them off the car)

driver's door lock knob is missing so drivers card has been off, dread to think what lies underneath :)

It looks like the filler flap doesn't have a vac operated lock, so I'll see if it has a pump as you suggest.

I've got electric windows though and they both work properly 8)

I have 2 keys...

First - Plain, only works in boot and drivers door. Central locking on drivers door, opens/locks all doors, boot and petrol flap... whole shebang.

Second - Chipped, only works in ignition and passenger door which opens that door and the petrol flap, not the drivers door or boot!

Weird and wonderful as all things on my corrado!

 I've got about 5 different keys, and not one does the locking petrol cap

I know what my CL problem is now though, an abortion of an alarm and immobiliser fitment, which I'm presently trying to extract from the car and still let the car actually work!
