Vibration as car comes on boost...

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

Well always had a little vibration from my car as it comes on boost. The other day is suddenly got FAR worse. Now my question is would a weak engine mount cause this - or is it just not possible that this would happen (Unless ofcourse it was toughing the bonet) and is probably just the exhaust.

I always thought it was the LSD when it had a little vibration... then I thought maybe exhaust after giving it some thought - but now having driven it again tonight... it really does feel like metal on metal with the engine rather than the exhaust. Anyone had a weak mount cause this?

Cheers,

Leon

Had a few comments made by the boys on VWVortex... looks like I broken an engine mount. Thinking about it I did seem to see the engine bobbing about a bit more than usual the other day (Just before the bad vibration started) - the roads were dry, what can I say... was enjoying the grip :p 8)

Nah - deffo contact vibration. Replaced the front mount now and still having the same vibration. Better, but still there. The frony mount was in bits. Think one of the rear ones must be on its way out or something.

I have got pics a the car/motor, nothing too pretty though. Makes all the right noises though  8)

SPent some hours polishing this weekend, looking rather pretty in the sun the last couple days. :D
