RichG60 0 Posted July 15, 2010 I have only got round to swapping over the mirror switch to my late one. I'm selling the car on Sunday! I have a late complete loom with the eight pin connector and the 2 three pin connectors. Am I right in thinking I need to cut the late loom off at the 8 pin conector and then connect that to the earlier loom where the early 6 pin connector was? I have the wiring guide and did this but I could hear the motors working on up and down motion but nothing was moving. This can only lead me to think that the switch is broken. What do you think? Fanjita 1 Posted July 15, 2010 http://wiki.the-corrado.net/wiring_late_electric_mirror_switches_to_early_loom.html ^This what you're looking for? Not sure about why they wouldn't move though, sounds more to be a mechanical problem? I'm guessing it was working before the swap though? I did the conversion on a friends car, but if i remember right they were never 100%, i think one was the wrong way around or something.
RichG60 0 Posted July 15, 2010 The mirrors definitely work, they were wired off early switch And working then wired to late and not working then wired back to early and working again. The main thing is whether the old loom is ok to wire the new 8 pin connector on.
RichG60 0 Posted July 15, 2010 Oh and a few of the colours in that guide don't match up. There's no brown and yellow or brown and black.
RichG60 0 Posted July 15, 2010 Sorted :) The wiring was fine but the switch had a worn out earth track, it looks like one of the movement balls had worn through it! bit of solder and bobs your uncle, have illumination and full movement!
