cliveyp 0 Posted February 6, 2004 My drivers door wouldn't unlock last night, whichever way i tried. With bothe the alarm and the key, the door lock pin would only move up slightly then drop back down again. It wouldn't rise enough to unlock the door at all! I went in through the passenger door to try and pull the pin up and it still wouldn't lift at all (is it deadlocked??). I started the engine and left it running for a bit, trying it every now and again with the spare key but to no avail. Then after about 10 mins of the engine running, i leaned over and noticed the pin had popped up by itself. What could have caused this? I've been told about a sticking diaphragm in the door, the only thing i can think to is a diaphragm in the door actuator. How is it possible to check this?? h100vw 0 Posted February 8, 2004 Clamp off the pipe to the drivers door. Operate the C/L. If the pax door locks and unlocks OK, there is summat amiss with the drivers door somewhere. Maybe your pump is going duff? Or intermittent. Gavin
exturbo2003 0 Posted February 9, 2004 had this happen on mine. if you remove the catch assembly you will notice where the rodin the door ataches to the catch is a black plastic connector that pushes on to a flat bar on the catch. this should have a shoulder that stays on the outside skin of the door between the catch and door skin. what happens is the sjhoulder breaks and moves allowing the unlock side to jam. if that doesnt make sense i can e-mail you the pics and part numbers
