rmn 0 Posted February 7, 2004 My mate has a g60 and its great except it wont run right at the moment! When you start it up, you have to have your foot on the floor for it to tick over! If you lift your foot, it cuts. When you have your foot on the floor, its just a poor idle, not even a good one! We disconnected the throtle sensor and it seemed to sort it out, it would rev properly then, but just not tick over. He went out and bought a new one, fitted it and the prob is the same. things i noticed were that the dizzy cap is badly worn, fueling is fine, vac lines were a bit worn, but we replaced them! h100vw 0 Posted February 7, 2004 Could be a bad closed throttle switch. The ECU doesn't know if it should let the engine rev or not. The switch could be stuck in. h100vw 0 Posted February 7, 2004 I doubt if it was the pair of switches on the TB. It would be pretty awkward to do. Could be a bust wire or something. Henny 0 Posted February 8, 2004 It is VITAL to the running of a G60 that the vacuum hose between the engine and the ECU is EXACTLY 100cm long. If it's not, then you'll get all sorts of weird running problems... The rest of the vacuum hoses just need to be in good condition with a good seal at each end... 8) If I were you, I'd check that hose, then change plugs, rotor arm and dizzy cap and see what changes if anything...
