Scottish region rolling-road figures.....let see yours then!

Recommended Posts

hi all,

great day out today....good to meet up with some of the guys today...toohot ,fat-tony,vr6paul and everyone else who made it

anyway myself and brian(with the sling btw :( )really enjoyed ourselves....just a pity we were the only ones from aberdeen but a combination of people being skint and others having to go into work meant there was some late call-offs :( ....never mind there's always the next time

anyway here is my new figures

Norm power............................195.5bhp to DIN 70020

engine output..........................199.5bhp... :o :D :D

wheel output...........................150bhp

drag output.............................49.5bhp

torque....................................183lb/ft

max power@114mph/6010rpm

max torque@84mph/4420rpm

either way its a nice increase on my previous figures set in september...though my torque is down by 3lb/ft :? ....anybody got any ideas why????????

btw vr6paul......you had the dremel out yet????????????????

Nice meeting you all yesterday, very nice Storm BTW Roddy :thumbleft:

Was pleasantly surprised with my VR6, although it does seem a bit down on torque for some reason.

Norm. power: 191.0 BHP to DIN 70020

Engine output:196.0BHP

Wheel Output:147.0BHP

Max power at 111mph or 5820rpm

Torque M: 175lb/ft :(

Max torque at 87mph or 4580rpm

Have got some pictures I will upload when I get a chance.

Jamie

don't know if i managed to get round to speaking to you....i think you were on the rolling-road just before me :?: .....anyway just come across and introduce yersell the next time

did jim curley give you any reason as to why your torque figure was slightly below standard?.....sounds like you could maybe benefit from the airbox mod i've got on mine

Roddy, I'm the quiet one  who looked a bit lost amongst the real car buffs... I mentioned to Jim about my engine's appetite for oil, he reckoned that maybe it was starting to wear a bit (going oval was the expression he used  ). He also tried to convince me to go for a VSR by overlaying the plot of one he'd done recently on top of mine - now if only I could afford the £1500 or so!

of course vr's do use a bit of oil in day-to-day driving............i think 1l per 600miles/1000kms is considered within vw's tolerances  ........also if you use fully-synthetic you can experience a bit more oil consumption than if you use semi-synthetic,but if you were a couple of cars before me then i can tell you that you had no blue smoke coming out the tail-pipe.....so you're not burning oil

also to get the best out of a vsr....you really need to get a pair of schrick cams(£600+ ) and the ecu re-chiped(£250).......
