V33DUB 0 Posted August 17, 2010 The insurance on my 8v is due for renewal next month so I thought I'd have a blast on the comparison sites to see what's what. 27 Years old, 1 years no claims (jinxed that now aint I! haha), 8k miles a year, fully comp. The cheapest I got was £848 which is about £100 cheaper than last year but I was hoping for more so just out of interest I thought I'd try the same details, but change my 8v with a value of £1300 to a £5k H Reg Sierra Cosworth. What I didn't expect was the quotes of around £700. Not just one but about 5 or 6 came in at around that figure. I tried some other cars randomly all with about 150-350bhp and other than a Subaru Impreza, all came out either cheaper or not much more expensive than my 8v Corrado. WTF? Conspiracy!! haha How do the insurance companies come to the conclusion that me in a £1.5k 8v Corrado poses more risk than me in a £5k Sierra Cosworth? :bad-words:
