To be honest I really don't think it's a terrible thing. I actually quite like the thought of whole segments of road (for commuting) that are automated and people just get into pods and programme destinations. It would put a stop to a LOT of the problems which plague motoring these days - road rage, accidents through driver error, rubbernecking, etc etc. It'd make transportation significantly more reliable and less stress inducing.

 

As long as some roads remained that manually controlled cars would be used on.. I think i'd be in favour.

I want proper automation! I want automation to force middle lane morons to pull into the inside lane on motorways.

But most of all I want a chip in everyone's car which makes them pull over out of the way whenever I want to overtake them! It's not much to ask is it
