Which Gearbox?

I've got a '90 1.8 16v with an aboltely buggered box.

 

I suspect that both the 3rd and 4th gear synchro's are absolutely shot,I have to double clutch, rev match and pray to have any hope of getting it in gear!

 

And I've figured it's probably easiest to swap in either a re-con or 2nd hand box,

 

I think it's an 02a box (as are pretty much all 4cyl vw boxes I understand) so which would be best to try and pick up?

 

I've remember vaguely reading something about it's possible to use a 6 speed polo box? Any extra benefits to this? Or a derv box?

I've found a decent 02q 6speed golf box, would this fit at all?

 

Anyone know or be able to check for me?
