Fulltimejunglist 0 Posted September 20, 2010 In the plastic plugs which wires go into little metal pins which i asume can clip in and out (One in question is the hazard/indicator/horn etc plus which attatches onto the bottom of the steering wheel) How do i remove the little pins without damaging the plug? Also if anyone knows its numbers 1-7 could anyone help me establish which is the hazards so i can sort a new hazard switch for my mot as the old one in the top of the steering wheel is mullard and gets stuck. I would also appreciate if anyone could tell me what any of the do, think 1 is the horn but im not sure, also i think 7 and 3 are the indicators and im thinking no. 2 is the hazards but im not too sure. Thanks alot, much apreciate the help you lot give me. aha, i dont mean to mentally disabled, i jsut cant help it. Regards Aidan
G60_Marc 0 Posted September 20, 2010 While re-wireing my engine bay I recently bought a set of these: Durite terminal extraction set. http://www.vehicle-wiring-products.eu/V ... gterms.php Click the picture of the green and pink things for a closer look. A little pricey but they have removed pretty much every pin ive thrown at them so far and also handy to have in the toolbox for the future. You could make a tool to do the same job. Fulltimejunglist 0 Posted September 21, 2010 the £6 postage made me not bother. It also helped me realise that you can use two saftey pins and a pair of plyers to push them through in the same way the tool would. Cheers for the help, wouldnt have workd it out if you hadnt have shown me this, tah. Also if you read this and think of not buying the tool, it took a very long time to remove 7 pins, a whole loom would be suicide.
G60_Marc 0 Posted September 21, 2010 Another easy way for anyone who maybe interested is to break apart an old style windcreen wiper blade remove one of the thin steel strips from inside the rubber (most have them inside) Bend it in half and there is your tool. Fulltimejunglist 0 Posted September 21, 2010 fair play mate, would probably be faster than the saftey pins also....
