jaded2882 0 Posted October 4, 2010 Got in my car the other day and the stereo turned on but I'm not getting any sound through any of the speakers. When it turns on I get a squeak noise for a fraction of a second from the front right speaker but then nothing. Any ideas?

Supercharged 2 Posted October 4, 2010 Sounds like the power stage of the amp has blown but you could check the connections and the fuse at the back of the unit first... Maybe get the alternator output checked at Halfords before fitting a new one if it has blown something.
jaded2882 0 Posted October 6, 2010 Halfords say they can't check it cos they didn't fit it... I pointed out that I won't buy a new stereo off them till I know if mine is broken, but that just seemed to confuse her... I'll get it looked at next time I'm at dg, they have more customer friendly policies than halfords!
