What's the value of my VR?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys!

Don't worry, not looking to sell! Just wanted to know for the insurance as the renewal is next week!

Well, its a Blackberry VR6 on a 95 N plate with 41,000 on the clock. 2 Registered previous owners. Cloth interior, manual.

Apart from a couple of dings in the door the bodywork is in mint condition, no rust etc. All drivetrain and engine are running sweet. Full service history from VW and VAG Specialist.

Thanks in advance boys and girls! :salute:

3-3.5 k approx, the low mileage helps

I don't agree with this, I reckon if u got a dent man to pull the dents you'd be looking at 6k+ eeeeasy!!!

I reckon its pretty much bang on in the middle guys. More than 3- 3.5k but less than 6k+ due to lack of leather. 4.5k should cover the insurance :)

Yeah completely standard. Thanks for the help guys.

At least this'll give me a ballpark figure of about £4k!

What would I do without this forum eh! :salute:

Well im sure i saw one on the sale sectin with leather and 98k on the clock which had a bit of rust too go for £3800? Or near that price anyway.

You should invest in some leather, spending £500-600 on a new interior would easily get you £5,000 for the car as a whole in my opion

And also sort the dent out and you've got yourelf a near brand new Corrado!

To be honest, the amount you submit to the insurance wont necessarily matter that much. It wont affect the premium much unless the car is worth 50k+ and you may still not get what you say its worth IF, dread the thought, it got written off - however you can take steps to prove its worth what you say, im just saying its not guaranteed. The only way it would matter significantly is with agreed valuation.

Interesting info there Critical Mass, at least I have a ballpark figure now if and when the insurance company does ask.

Newbridge, I'm not looking to sell so the leather isn't a priority for me but thanks for the input anyway!

Haha, it was my dads car until I bought it from him last month and he bought it as an ex-demonstrator. It was a weekend car for him hence the low miles but it'll be much more of a daily driver for me so the miles will be going on for the next couple of years at least.

I have to say though, I have great admiration for the 100k+ guys on here!! :notworthy: Some of the numbers mentioned in the "Who's C has the highest mileage" thread demand respect!!

40k is piss low, I'd pay that if I had the cash, how many 40k, family owned, near enough mint vr's do u know of?

I'm sure someone after a mint oem corrado would pay 5k for it at least. All about finding the right buyer with these cars.

Oh and if that's just decent mileage what would you say was good?

FYI, a local chap sold his vr with 56k on the clock, same condition etc for £4900 which is what I based my valuation on.

Bear in mind he's wanting to tell the insurance and not sell the car.

Sure if he was to sell and waited long enough, im sure the right buy would come along, who would pay the 5k+. But then we can refer to the old rule of "ts only worth, what someone is willing to pay for it"
