Electric seat help

Recommended Posts

Hi

Just found out my electric seat adjustment has stopped working. Its only in the drivers, the back rest tilt.

Its not the switch as I have swapped the drivers and passenger one over. I can only assume a connection has dropped out or the motor has packed up?

I have tried to access the motor with little success. All I've managed to do it break the plastic bit that that keeps the seat covers together.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I have half leather recaros by the way.

Thanks.

I take it this is Corrado original electric seats???

The fuse? It sits on the top edge the fuse relay plate - 20A yellow.

Here in the blue ring marked area. The one in the photo is for the Electric Windows & Central Locking, so there should be another one in one of the five vacant positions.

Fuse check is just to make sure. I doubt it has blown as there are 4 electric motors involved and one not wotking suggests a motor, switch or a broken wire.

12 volts in on red wire to whole of the seat. Splits off at the height adjustment switch to the backrest motor on an orange wire to the switch. Switch to motor is an orange wire & grey wire (reversing flow circuit). Switch earth return is grey. Backrest switch to height switch is grey. This then joins the earth wire (brown) on nthe height switch.

Thanks. I will check the fuses.

I have repaired the seat clip thing.

To check out the motor will i have to take the seat out.

Thanks so much for the detail info, I just need to know how to get to the motor without wreaking the seat anymore.
