When's a Speedline not a Speedline....

Recommended Posts

... When it's a Votex 5 star.

And no I'm not referring to the bouffant adorning, shoulder pad adoring, faux soul specialists of the same name. I'm talking about a set of alloys dear reader. The below image was harvested from an aftermarket VW wheel catalogue I have (I'm an anorak I know) and it looks like the old OE rims have been given the Ting tings "That's not my name" treatment.

I do however have a big crush on the split rim version...

... and BBS RM's.

In fact if the board allow, a set may be "in my life" very soon.

Doesn't look like a BBS brochure simply the dealer wheel options brochure. Votex is the name often used for VW and Audi option wheels but a number manaufacturers make the wheels such as Ronal, BBS and Speedline

VW will list them like that as they're made for the company by an outsider.

I've been to the factory in Wolfsburg and i've seen the wheels all arrive in at the factory. Don't think they can make them on site.
