MarkCorrado 0 Posted February 8, 2011 Any ideas how to resolve the problem of the main interior not turning off when i close the door and look the car besides just flicking the switch over. Thanks
aust 0 Posted February 8, 2011 ive got the same problem with mine, i checked the switches on the door, they seem fine, must have a loose wire somewhere. been like this since i got the car, to be honest ive got use to it.
RW1 0 Posted February 8, 2011 a) When you say checked the switches, did you take them out and check the wires were still attached to the back? The wires behind only need to ground/earth to make the light come on.b) Or the wire (brown with white stripe) may have chaffed on the inner wing where the loomm passes through a bodywork hole. So bare wire is touching the bodywork.Permanent without flickering suggests looking up behind the fuse/relay panel on the driver's side and similar on the passenger side to see if it has chaffed as in b) Routing after that generally is OK for rubbing, so check the roof light unit and its switch.. Supercharged 2 Posted February 8, 2011 Usually this happens due to the rubber perishing around the switches on the doors - these are less than a pound each from VW
