James. 7 Posted April 16, 2011 What started out as a major job has descended into farce. I'm mid way through replacing the tensioners and guides. I started to remove the bolts from the flywheel and in my haste forgot to secure the cams. Safe to say the cams started to rotate. In a moment of blind panic I turned the flywheel back anti-clockwise. The cams now don't line up. Damn. How do I rectify this awkward situation ? aide 0 Posted April 16, 2011 ok, either get the L shape timing tool, or use two bits of 3mm metal to lock the cams with the groove level with the cylinder head. I foget which lobe is supposed to point directly upwards, do you have a bentley? not\looking forward to doing my guides etc :/ hope it goes smoothly, have you read the bit about cranking over to pressurise the oil before you start up first time again?
