jims corrado 0 Posted March 23, 2003 just to say congratulations to Andi on being officially "promoted" to the CCGB comittee (spelling) as webmaster and general website technical person. Well done mate. jim
Jim 2 Posted March 23, 2003 Yeah... well done mate. I look forward to seeing what you have up your sleeve... the idea of being able to pay for club membership & merchandise over the site was bought up very quickly and seemed an interesting prospect. I know you had mentioned you planned to get a payment system setup for the site, so it should be pretty damn good! :)
vr6storm 0 Posted March 23, 2003 congrats m8 :thumb right: if you do the website half as good as you do this forum 8) then it'll be a runaway success

Campaign 0 Posted March 24, 2003 Andi, do you actually WANT to be on the committee?
Andi 2,147,483,647 Posted March 24, 2003 Yeah - it just seems a bit strange the way this has happened. I thought I was just taking over getting the website upto scratch - not actual club committee member! I don't mind - just wish I could be told things rather than hear them 2nd hand. Like who do I talk to about alterations to the site? Who do I talk to about the domain problem? Who do I answer to? I have the whole site on disk, so can start work when required - but I don't know what I can do without first consulting the commitee, etc etc... I don't want to annoy my fellow commitee members! Answers on a postcard, please.... Right, okay. I can probably help you with the what "alterations" need doing to the site, I might be able to help with the "Domain" problem (already have a new domain setup for it actually http://www.corradoclub.co.uk anyobdy?), you answer to the club members, but more specifically the rest of the committee (so don't stuff it ;-) ) Give me a bell on 0116 269 8139 tomorrow and we can discuss it, or just drop a mail to mailto:[email protected]
Andi 2,147,483,647 Posted March 24, 2003 Guy was going to talk to you about that - we did a WHOIS on that domain and saw your name ;) I know what stuff needs doing really... and then we need to discuss what new things can be done - all depending on what the rest of the commitee will allow. Already chatted to Martyn about merchandise online... Will call you tomorrow. Easier to talk than 100 emails back and forth - and free since I'm on Blueyonder Talk Unlimited 8)
Campaign 0 Posted March 24, 2003 Well, I actually registered it for the club's email addresses so I could standardise them. Seems a quicker name than "vw-corrado-club.co.uk", too many dots and dashes for me.... If you want I'll put you down as an Admin user on the domain. It's got pretty much as much space as you are gonna need for the web-site (I've leased the server that it's on, so I can control it). If you can keep the "forum" seperate, but we can put a link on the web-site to the forum and probably the "yahoo-group" too, as lots of people seem to be double posting backwards and forwards. I'll be in after about 10:30 tomorrow, so ping me then...
Andi 2,147,483,647 Posted March 24, 2003  Like I'm gonna be up before 10.30 anyway.... Would keep the forum separate anyway, don't worry about that - and as for the domain and hosting - great, means I don't have to use my own bandwidth :) So yeah, add me as the Admin/Tech contact :) Ping ya' l8r.
